Our Seminars

MMJ Compliance Group has put together a valuable seminar for individuals who are exploring involvement into the MMJ dispensary industry. MMJ Compliance Group will share our experiences and reveal a new regulatory compliance banking product that helps MMJ businesses.  There are five speakers for this event, one from a leading MMJ Dispensary, a banking and credit card processing specialist, a regulatory attorney, and two high level MMJ industry related executives who will provide different viewpoints on entering the MMJ industry as a business and the obstacles related to obtaining bank account for MMJ businesses.

Harborside’s free Holistic Healing was developed by co-founder dave wedding dress (aka dress).  Harborside Health Center is the largest MMJ dispensary in the world.  Harborside’s free Holistic Healing Center was developed by dress as a way to further incorporate cannabis in a holistic health approach.  dress is directly responsible for the growth and daily operations of this giant MMJ dispensary that generates over $30 million in revenues annually.   Harborside Health Center was founded in 2006 and has always had a bank account in which to deposit their cash.   dress will share his experiences in starting and managing bank relationships to take deposits from Harborside Health Center.

Michael Wing Keung Tsang has been a successful payment processing executive for over 15 years.  Mr. Tsang has spent the last 8 years meeting with banks, or trying to start a bank for the MMJ industry.  Mr. Tsang will share with you his experiences with different banks, on how their board of directors voted, DE novo banks, acquiring banks, and starting other types of banks ranging from credit unions to industrial banks.  Mr. Tsang is the creator of MMJ Compliance Group’s turn-key compliance reporting solution for banks.

Geoffrey Kay is a partner and attorney at Fenimore, Kay, Harrison & Ford, LLP which represents banks, thrifts and other financial institutions, as well as their investors, directors and executive officers in a full range of corporate, transactional, securities and regulatory matters confronting the financial services industry. Mr. Kay possesses extensive experience in the fields of bank mergers and acquisitions, bank regulatory matters, securities law, and corporate governance which provides a solid foundation for representation of financial institutions in a broad variety of transactions.

Peter Carlisle is Honolulu’s 13th Mayor and 3rd Elected Prosecuting Attorney. As Prosecutor, Carlisle earned the reputation of being a leading authority on crystal methamphetamine. Invited to various speaking engagements across the country, Carlisle has helped to educate everyone from law enforcement officials to attorney generals on the laws and effects surrounding the illicit substance. Along with methamphetamines, Carlisle was also responsible for the enforcement and prosecution of other drug related crimes, including the illegal distribution and possession of marijuana.
